Daily clinics are run by our practice nurses who offer you treatment, general counselling and advice on the following topics:

Well Person Health Check

The practice nurses are available for well woman and well man screening checks by appointment. This includes a review of general health, lifestyles and heart disease risk factors.

 

Family Planning

Advice on the full range of family planning is provided by the doctors and practice nurses. Please make an appointment and inform the receptionist if you require coil or cap fittings.

Maternity Care

Our midwife shares your care with Dr Gaule and Dr Collier at Wateringbury and also Maidstone or Pembury Hospital. She can be contacted via the Community Office at Pembury Hospital 01892 638158.

 

Child Health

The health visitor clinics are at the Wateringbury Surgery twice a month on a Tuesday from 09.30 to 11.30 hrs. She deals mainly with the under 5’s and advises on prevention rather than cure. Developmental assessments are made by the doctors at 6 weeks and 8 months (hearing tests), 18 months and 3½ years by the health visitor. Influenza Vaccinations

We offer free flu vaccinations commencing in September each year, to all our patients over 65 years (who are not allergic to eggs or feathers) and those at risk from heart, chest, diabetic and age-related conditions.

 

District Nurse Team

District nurses provide care and advice on all aspects of nursing for those unable to leave their homes. Dressings, incontinence aids, home adaptation equipment and home treatment can be provided. The district nurse attends the surgery daily and may be contacted on 01622 814609

Psychological Counselling & Treatment

We can offer a counselling service to patients one day a week by appointment. Any patient wishing to see the counsellor must first make an appointment to see a GP who will then refer you. There is an NHS wait.

 

Minor Operations

The doctors do minor surgery in our well equipped treatment room with the practice nurse.

Travel Information

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.  This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

Chargeable Services

Completion of certain forms and letters fall outside the scope of the General Medical Services which GPs are required to provide free of charge.  As such, some things are classed as a private service.
